Stories in fighting games are like fanfiction; fun and pointless.

Honestly, as long as they make it pretty, fast, fun, and control well, I don't honestly care what BS they want to come up with.

Save writers for games that actually need them.

I object.

I feel that every genre needs good writers, what would Soul Calibur be without Siegfried's tale of redemption?

It'd still be fun, but not nearly as good...

Besides, Evil Zone had really good writers, yet the combat system was incredibly simple. And most everyone who has played it, loved it.

Exactly the same, since Siegfried wasn't the only focus of the game.
